What Are You Taking In?

Mat 12:34b For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

It has been well said that what is in your heart comes out of your mouth. It can go either way; positive or negative. It's our choice what we are going to feed our spirits. We are exposed to all kinds of influences throughout our day. They come in the form of media and reading materials: TV, radio, internet, books and magazines; in the form of speech, conversations we have or overhear; and even images sent to our cellphones. Many of these we can control. We need to make conscience decisions to allow only those things which are beneficial to our Christian life and walk into our lives.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.

There are many ways to start to fill your heart with the positive. You can begin by actively listening to your Pastor's or Preacher's sermons, Praying often, Reading your Bible, Worshiping the Lord, Studying the Bible, Fellowship with other Believers, Meditating and Memorizing Scripture.
After 24 hours you may accurately remember:
  • 5% of what you hear
  • 15% of what you read
  • 35% of what you study
  • 57% of what you see and hear
    But you remember 100% of what you memorize!

Starting today, lets change what we allow ourselves to take in so that in the days ahead, what comes forth from our lips is only true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable...
